Research Orientation 3 – ISRAELIS AND PALESTINIANS: SPACES, SOCIETIES, INSTITUTIONS AND CONTEMPORARY CULTURES
The CRFJ is entirely dedicated to the development of research in the research orientation 3 “Israelis and Palestinians: spaces, societies, institutions and contemporary cultures”, a research orientation that borrows from various disciplines and methodologies, urban sociology, political philosophy, anthropology, geography, economics, demography, political sciences, communication and literature.
The challenge is considerable since it consists in offering a relevant and updated understanding of the most contemporary issues on the Israeli and Israeli-Palestinian fieldwork, which is sensitive and prone to controversies. From this point of view and on those specific issues, the CRFJ encourages research studies closely related to fieldwork, with the empirical approach and micro-analysis on one hand, and a more generalised and global perspective on the other hand.
Ce pari du terrain et de l’enquête empirique, sur ces enjeux contemporains trop souvent lestés de biais idéologiques croisés, est la meilleure réponse qu’une UMIFRE, institution de recherche basée à l’étranger, peut apporter pour nourrir le débat public dans un format apaisé et selon des modalités expressément scientifiques. Parmi les sujets d’intérêt des chercheurs de cet axe figurent : la mondialisation par le bas vue à partir du statut de migrants et réfugiés et du quartier migrant de Tel Aviv (Neve Sha’anan), la « Start Up Nation » : l’innovation et l’entreprenariat en Israël, les villes « mixtes » dans le contexte israélo-palestinien, les thématiques croisées de la mémoire, de la migration et de l’exil, la « question juive » sous l’angle de la philosophie politique, etc.
